John Stewart = my hero

So, tonight as I watch the daily show, I think to myself what a genius John Stewart really is. He is American yet he spends his whole life making fun of his own kind...because he knows how ridiculous they all are.
Tonight he was pointing out how American governments and media have used fear mongering for decades.
There always has to be something that is seen as threat, so that the government can be seen to be doing something in combating the "so-called" threat.
My favourite though is the use of 9/11. It is my personal theory that the US was simply waiting for 9/11 to happen so they would have something to use to control their population. Even if it had been something else entirely, they would have used it in the same manner. It is all a big conspiracy!
I am sick to death that the US media and government still mention 9/11 all the time. I realize that a lot of people died, but the numbers are minuscule compared to those who have died in tsunamis, earthquakes, and have died of poverty. MINUSCULE!!!
Just because the people who died were American, there seems to be something sacred about that. Just like I stated before, they think they are better than everyone.
Egocentrist!
I actually do not feel sorry for the US at all. They brought this upon themselves. How many times have they tried to control resources and whole countries for their own personal gain....HELLO America!!! If you exploit people they will get pissed off. It's just how it works.
Obviously people will want to bomb you if you have a history of invading their countries physically and economically. Especially if you are draining their resources and capital. Need I say more.
PS the US army has probably killed 100 X the people that 9/11 did. All wars which I personally find unnecessary.
The US needs to reevalute its global position.
They also need to stop brining up 9/11. It wasn't that big a deal. Except that it spawned a lucrative security industry which allowed large arms corporations to develop new security technology and weaponry and profit insanely from it.
Take from this what you will. I just think it's all a little too convenient.

My daily Beef with America....

So today I was watching an episode of the Simpsons and it reminded me of how obssessed americans are with their own flag...amongst other things.
They all have this complex that their flag is this holy sacred item....I'm sorry, but I really feel that a flag is simply a representation of the demarcation of a specific territory made of some kind of cotton-poly blend that is marked by some kind of dye.
The Americans would have you believe that every single mass produced flag was a piece of the true cross!!!
This is ridiculous.
Their flag is no better than any other flag.
It is a flag!!!
I believe that if an American has a flag that is too worn, they have to fold it up and send it to the federal government to dispose of it properly and they are legally required to replace any worn flags.
I also believe that it is a federal offence to burn or defame any American flag within the boundaries of the US.
This is stupid. It is a piece of cloth, if it's worn, it would be best used as a dusting rag...aren't we all trying to be environmentally friendly?
As a canadian, I have had many flags that have been small, for certain holidays, made of paper and taped to the inside of my front window in honour of Canada day!!
And you know where those went when I was done with them?
Straight in the trash...where old stuff belongs...not some whack job flag graveyard paid for by the federal government.
Well if there is one thing that Americans are good at, it's wasting money.
I just think that the extent of American egocentrism is crazy!!!!!
They have a bunch of rules to convince their own population and the rest of the world that they are the best!
That's okay though, we Canadians know the truth.

Why I think Americans are Stupid...part 1.

I'm starting this blog as a response to all of the political research that I have done in the past few years of University. I have come to the conclusion that the U.S. is completely responsible for all of the world's problems....they are especially responsible for all of their own problems. I will randomly post interesting topics and findings that involve American issues at random intervals. Hopefully this will be entertaining and enlightening. We'll see how it goes.

My first issue with the US is their treatment of immigrants and anyone who is not white. America is seen as the land of opportunity...but opportunity for whom?
Americans are hypocrites. (not all, I have some American friends who I love very much)

I also encourage responses to my opinions, because I would love to believe that America has some redeeming qualities.

Here is a beginning list of random things I really hate about the US:
-they think they rule the world
-they act like they rule the world
-they think anyone who is not American is inferior
-they beleive they can treat anyone anyway they feel
-they exploit poor countries because they can and they feel like its their right
-they focus on individual rights instead of communal rights
-you can sue anyone for stupid reasons
-they don't like liberals
-they don't know anything about anywhere else in the world because they are so ethnocentric
-republicans are mostly crazy
-they don't like liberal ideals
-they believe anything the media presents
-they literally think anything is a threat and therefore there is a strong impending possibility of death

So these are just a few to start. I will read some interesting theoretical articles and will further postulate based on my findings.

Just so everyone is clear on my political position, I am liberal....in the sense that I think gay marriage is fine and I am clearly pro-choice. I don't think everyone should have as many rights as they want...they should but within reason and within the context of respecting everyone else's rights at the same time.

I also think everyone has the right to healthcare and respect.
